Michael Chuney is an artist based in Poughkeepsie, New York, working across photography, painting, drawing, filmmaking, and mixed media. His work moves between mediums as part of a connected creative process, exploring how images shift in meaning through experimentation, reinterpretation, and time. Much of his current photographic work centers on Polaroid emulsion lifts, where the fragile surface of the image becomes part of the visual language.

His work has been included in exhibitions in New York, Arizona, and Illinois, and continues to appear in regional and national group exhibitions. In addition to his studio practice, Chuney has produced several independent film projects and served as a co-producer on the feature film The Bad Shepherd (2024), which briefly ranked among the most-watched films on Hulu following its release.
